Set in a rainforest environment, Singapore Zoo’s world-famous “Open Concept” offers the opportunity to experience and be inspired by the wonders of nature. Home to more than 2,400 specimens of over 300 species, 34 percent of which are threatened, the Zoo has attained a strong reputation internationally for its conservation initiatives and breeding programs.

To better meet the healthcare needs of its animals and working towards its aspiration to become a leading global center of excellence for veterinary healthcare and research, a purpose-built Wildlife Healthcare and Research Center was set up in March 2006. Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS) is dedicated to the management of world-leading zoological institutions Jurong Bird Park, Night Safari, River Safari, and Singapore Zoo—that aim to inspire people to value and conserve biodiversity by providing meaningful and memorable wildlife experiences.

A self-funded organization, WRS focuses on protecting biodiversity in Singapore and Southeast Asia through collaborations with like-minded partners, organizations and institutions. Each year, the four attractions welcome 4.6 million visitors. Mandai Park Holdings (MPH) is driving the rejuvenation of Mandai Precinct into an integrated nature and wildlife destination, through its development arm, Mandai Park Development (MPD).  MPH also oversees the business and strategic development of Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS), the operator of Singapore’s award-winning Jurong Bird Park, Night Safari, River Safari, and Singapore Zoo.

• By MRT, take the train to Ang Mo Kio MRT Station (NS16) and then take bus 139 from the bus interchange. The travel distance to Singapore Zoo is approximately 13 km.
• The frequency of bus service 138 is 10 to 12 minutes between 6.30 am to 8.30 am, 8 to 11 minutes between 8.30 am to 5 pm, 7 to 14 minutes between 5 pm to 7 pm.
